KCWA General Body Meeting - 18^th March 2011

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) was held on 18th March 2011 at the Indian Community School (Amman Branch) with the opening prayer of Mr. Anil Fernandes. Outgoing President Mr. Rudy D'souza welcomed the gathering and thanked each and everyone for the support he received during his tenure as the President of the KCWA. Mr. Vijay D'souza then read the minutes of the last AGM. The dais was then handed over to the Election Commission comprising of Mrs. Jovita Fernandes, Mr. Rony Suares and Mr. Rudy D'souza.Mrs. Jovita Fernandes then introduced the following new Executive Committee Members for 2011-2013, who were elected unanimously as per KCWA tradition.

President: Stephen B. Machado, Karkal
Vice President: Nitin Castelino, Shirva
Assistant General Secretary: Mable Andrade, Udupi
Treasurer - General: Anil Fernandes, Ferar
Treasurer - Cultural Affairs: Wilson Pinto, Mumbai
Auditor: Melwin Monis, Udupi
Members' Affairs Coordinator: Praveen Menezes, Karkal
Cultural Secretary: Kiran Gonsalves, Kundapur
Sports Secretary: Dr. Manohar Prabhu, Bajpe
Public Relations Officer: Anil Menezes, Shirva
Liturgical Services & Education Fund Coordinator: Vijay D'Souza, Allipade

Rony Suares proposed vote of thanks and Wilfred Lobo led the concluding prayer. Kiran Gonsalves presented the multi-media display of candidate profiles, Anand D'souza (Illuminations) provided the projector and sound system. Media coverage was given by Daijiworld and Mangalorean.com websites. Dinner was served to all by Royal Plaza Catering. The meeting was ably compered by Anil Menezes.

In addition to the Executive Committee selected during the GBM, the following 2 vacant positions have been filled up.
