Picnic 2011:
Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its annual
Family Picnic on Friday 21st October 2011 at Ahmadi Gardens.
The day long fun-filled event comprised of sporting
activities, games, entertainment and prizes galore,
thoroughly enjoyed by adults and children alike.
The event began at 9:30 am with the Opening Prayer and hymn
animated by Rudy D’souza. President Stephen Machado extended
a warm welcome to the KCWA Family and requested each one to
enjoy the day with the true family spirit. Mr. Pascal Pinto
-ex-President, Patron Member, Donor and a popular
personality in Kuwait was the chief guestfor the day. In
his message, he appreciated KCWA’s achievements and wished
success in years to come.

KCWA receives honor from the
President of India:
 KCWA
was one among the 25 Konkani Organizations from around the
world to be honoured by the President of India for the
valuable contribution to the preservation and enrichment of
Konkani culture in their region, during the World Konkani
Cultural Convention’s Ekta Divas in Mangalore on Dec 9, 2010 |
Monthi Fest
Celebrations 2011:
 The
Konkani community of Kuwait, led by Kuwait Canara Welfare
Association (KCWA), celebrated Monti Fest with much grandeur
on Sunday, September 11 in the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait
city.
The celebration has been an annual tradition for 23 years
now, which is attended by thousands of Catholics in Kuwait.
Other Konkani associations which joined hands with KCWA this
time are Shirva Welfare Association, Kuwait Pangla
Association, Kundapur Varado Welfare Association, CRC
Chinchinim Sports Club, Colva United Centre and Goan
Cultural Centre |

St. Agnes Special School
Project
Approx .
Rs. 40 lakhs purpose built facility to house the
computer school dedicated to the disabled. First of it's
kind project, launched in liaison with St.Agnes Special
School, Mangalore, India. 4 computers, other peripherals &
utilities have been installed for free use by the disabled

KCWA General Body Meeting 2011
 Kuwait
Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), Kuwait’s premier Catholic
Association held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 2nd
September 2011 in ICSK (Senior), Salmiya. The meeting
commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer led by Mr.
Melwin Monis (Auditor). Mr. Stephen Machado (President)
heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude
to all the members for their support, love and
encouragement. The newly elected managing committee and
support committee members were introduced to the assembly. |

 KCWA
feels proud to portrait before you its member’s children’s
excellence in the field of education, particularly the
recently announced class X & XII results. Some of the
members’ children have prominently passed out from these
examinations with flying colors thereby making their parents
proud. This is a great moment for KCWA, which aims at
providing Primary education to the unprivileged back in
India.
